WORLD DAY FOR SAFETY 2024

On 22nd April, TotalEnergies teams across the world celebrated World Day for Safety and TotalEnergies Ghana was no exception. It was a reflective and highly educative moment for staff, station dealers, contractors, and transporters of TE Ghana as the focal theme, ‘Major Accidents and REX', was explored through interactive discussions and educative videos. This initiative seamlessly aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 8.8, championing the establishment of secure working environments for all.
The sessions run concurrently across 6 locations in the country. In dissecting the theme, ‘Major Accidents and REX’, participants were made to understand the importance of learning from previous incidents (Return on Experience or REX) in order to assess the shortfalls and put in effective remediation measures. This would forestall future occurrences of similar incidents. Thought-provoking videos highlighting past accidents were presented, fostering insightful discussions, and yielding invaluable observations and recommendations.
Feedback was received from various stakeholders on practical measures to avoid accidents in day-to-day operations. At the end of the day, the message was clear – safety continues to remain a priority and learning from previous mistakes (not only within the Company, but within the industry as well) should be second nature. Negative history should not repeat itself.
