TOTALENERGIES MARKETING GHANA PLANTS FOR A GREENER FUTURE
TotalEnergies Marketing Ghana PLC (TEMG) actively participated in this year's Green Ghana Day alongside millions of Ghanaians. The initiative, launched by H.E Nana Akufo-Addo, the President of Ghana, aims to plant 10 million trees to combat deforestation and mitigate the effects of climate change in the country.
Building on their commitment from last year's tree planting exercise at Agomeda, TEMG staff and members of the Management Committee demonstrated their environmental dedication once again with 132 TEMG staff across the country participating in the tree planting exercise.
In collaboration with the Forestry Commission, 5,500 seedlings were planted at the CHIPA forest reserve in Kordiabe, Eastern Region, while 270 seedlings were planted by field staff in the Takoradi, Kumasi and Tamale areas.
This contribution aligns perfectly with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 13 ("Climate Action") and 15 ("Life on Land"), which emphasize tackling climate change and preserving terrestrial life. For TEMG, sustainability is a core value beyond the initial planting. The company is committed to ensuring the long-term viability of these trees. The planted seedlings will be monitored at least twice a year to ensure their growth and survival. This commitment reflects TEMG's dedication to fostering a greener future for Ghana.
This year's Green Ghana Day participation is just one of TEMG's ongoing environmental initiatives. The company has a history of organizing beach cleaning exercises. These efforts highlight TEMG's commitment to environmental responsibility and its role in building a sustainable future for Ghana.
