Total Ghana Donates Computers to Kanvilli School
Total Petroleum Ghana Limited (TPGL), an Oil Marketing Company has donated to the ICT laboratory of Kanvilli RC School Complex in the Northern Region of Ghana.
Total Ghana as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is committed to helping young people thrive, driven by the belief that sustainable development cannot be achieved without effective solutions to promote their professional and social inclusion. In this context, TPGL presented to the school twenty-four (24) complete set desktop computers, a scanner, and a printer. Forty-eight (48) latest edition ICT textbooks recommended by the Ghana Education Service were part of the items donated.
Present at the event which took place on Tuesday, 26th November 2019 at the school premises were Management and Staff of TPGL, the Chief and elders of Kavilli community, some government officials, several dignitaries, and the student population.
Mr. Bright Dokosi, the Human Resources Manager of Total Ghana noted that the company had embarked on several sustainable development initiatives in the educational sector over the past years. He also added that education is the key for national growth and therefore the donation of these items would afford the school children a hands-on experience as far as ICT is concerned and will help promote quality education in Kanvilli.
In separate addresses, the Circuit Supervisor for Kanvilli Area Mr. Charles, and the Head Master of the school, Bro. Christian Hazely, expressed their profound gratitude to TPGL for the donation which was very timely. They both gave the assurance that the computers together with the other items that had been donated would be put to good use for the benefit of all students in the school.
