TotalEnergies Startupper of the Year Challenge: Empowering Innovation and Sustainability

On October 25, 2024, the Fiesta Royale Hotel buzzed with excitement as TotalEnergies Ghana hosted the 4th Edition of the Startupper of the Year Challenge awards gala. This event celebrated the ingenuity and passion of young entrepreneurs.

Among the 14 finalists, three winners stood out for the quality and impact of their projects in different categories:

  1. Longi Aadam - Kodupads by Kodu Technology (Cycle'Up Winner): Produces biodegradable sanitary pads from plantain and banana waste, addressing both period poverty and agricultural waste management.
  2. Georgina Boamah - Verte Tower (Power'Up Winner): An agritech project idea utilizing vertical farming systems on solar farms, offering a sustainable solution for food production while maximizing space in urban areas and generating energy.
  3. Ernest Larmie - Farm Estates Vertical Farming (Innov'Up Winner): Specializes in indoor vertical farming, growing vegetables with minimal land and water, thus contributing to urban food security and sustainability.

These entrepreneurs were recognized for their creativity, commitment to sustainable solutions, and desire to contribute to a better future. Through this initiative, TotalEnergies reaffirms its commitment to supporting projects that address major environmental and societal challenges.
