TotalEnergies Ghana Takes Action for a Cleaner Wiaboman Beach
Who says cleaning can’t be fun? As part of our commitment to the 5 Levers for Sustainable Change, the TotalEnergies Ghana team rolled up their sleeves and hit the sand at our adopted Wiaboman Beach! This Action! Event wasn’t just about picking up trash—it was a celebration of teamwork, environmental care, and community spirit. Together, we showed that protecting our oceans can be both meaningful and memorable.
Thanks to the Action! Program, our employees get to swap their desks for volunteering activities at least three days a year. This year, our beach cleaning adventure was inspired by Levers 4 and 5—Our Communities and Care. Ninety enthusiastic staff members joined forces, just like last year, to make a real difference.
Armed with gloves and grit, our volunteers tackled everything from plastic bottles and food wrappers to glass, cans, and even trapped fishing nets. The result? Four tons of waste cleared away—a fantastic drop from last year’s six tons! That’s a sign the community is catching on and embracing a cleaner beach.
Beyond the sparkling sand, our efforts shined a spotlight on the problem of single-use plastics and careless littering. Together, we’re not just cleaning up—we’re inspiring lasting change, one joyful beach day at a time.
