Empowering Ghanaian Women and Inspiring Change with Action
To mark International Women’s Day 2026, TotalEnergies Marketing Ghana PLC partnered with United Way Ghana to empower members of the Ghana Hairdressers and Beauticians Association (GHABA) through a transformative workshop. Hosted at Takoradi Library on 12/03/2026, the event brought together 200 women from the Western Region for a day dedicated to fostering personal and professional development.
This Action! Initiative was crafted to strengthen the social and economic resilience of vulnerable women by equipping them with essential life skills, business expertise, and financial management capabilities. Attendees benefitted from engaging with professionals, receiving responses to their most pressing questions, and accessing coaching and mentorship. This tailored guidance enabled them to set focused goals, raise the profile of their micro-businesses, and manage their income more effectively.
Eight staff members from TotalEnergies Ghana, alongside nine station managers, volunteered their time and expertise, providing hands-on assistance and leading workshops on Business Development, Financial Literacy, Marketing and Community Relations, and Health and Safety. This valuable support enabled participants to refine their skills, implement effective financial tools, and develop strategies for creating robust, sustainable businesses.
Through TotalEnergies Action! employees played a pivotal role by volunteering to mentor and offer practical advice to participants. The project not only advanced sustainable livelihoods and women’s empowerment, but also showcased impactful employee-led community engagement, perfectly echoing the 2026 International Women’s Day theme: Give to Gain.
