Empowering Communities Through Health & Environmental Action
As part of our unwavering commitment to community development and public health, TotalEnergies Ghana (TEMG) proudly partnered with the Ghana Institute of Clinical Genetics (GICG) to host a free health screening outreach in Chorkor, Accra, in celebration of GICG’s 50th anniversary.
This milestone event brought together medical professionals, TEMG volunteers, and community members in a shared mission to promote health awareness and provide essential services to underserved populations.
A total of 381 residents benefited from the outreach, receiving:
- Sickle cell and Hb genotype screening
- Health education sessions focused on prevention and wellness
- Doctor consultations for personalized medical advice
- Referrals for critical health cases requiring further attention
- Free medication distribution to support immediate treatment needs
50 passionate volunteers from TotalEnergies Ghana played a vital role in making the event a success by supporting:
- Registration and logistics to ensure smooth operations
- Public education to raise awareness about sickle cell disease
- Data collection to support future health interventions
This initiative was designed to raise vital awareness of sickle cell disease, a condition that affects thousands of Ghanaians, and to reinforce our commitment to community health and environmental responsibility.
At TotalEnergies Ghana, we believe that energy should empower lives—not only through innovation and infrastructure, but through compassion, collaboration, and care.
Together with GICG, we are proud to have made a meaningful impact in Chorkor, and we remain dedicated to expanding our health and environmental outreach across Ghana.
